SMCISD – 2 New APs At Middle Schools

The San Marcos CISD School Board has approved two new Assistant Principals for the middle schools: Amanda Serna (Miller Middle School) and Kashen Greathouse (Goodnight Middle School).

 

Amanda Serna has been serving as the Assistant Principal of Burnet Middle School in Austin. Prior to becoming an administrator, she was an English teacher at Lehman High School in Kyle, Garcia Middle School and Porter Middle School—both in Austin. She has advanced Spanish proficiency.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Texas-Austin. She has won several awards and honors for teaching and leadership excellence while with Hays CISD, and was a Texas Title I Priority Schools Grant Recipient while in Austin ISD.

 

Kashen Greathouse returns to San Marcos CISD where he was a math and science teacher at Bowie Elementary from 2012-2015. He also completed his Principal Practicum at Bowie. More recently, he was serving as the Assistant Principal of Gonzales Junior High School, in Gonzales ISD. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Texas Lutheran University and his Master of Education in Elementary Education from Texas State University, San Marcos.
