The City of San Marcos invites the public to participate in a series of in-person, pop-up, take-home, or virtual community events to provide input on the Vision SMTX Comprehensive Plan.

On Wednesday, September 15, the City will host a Vision SMTX Community Meeting at the San Marcos Public Library, 625 East Hopkins Street. The interactive meeting schedule will include the following:

    • 5:30-6:00 p.m. | Social Gathering
    • 6:00-6:45 p.m. | Presentation
    • 6:45-8:00 p.m. | Open House and Interactive Activities

The City will also host a Pop-Up Public Input booth on Saturday, September 18 at the San Marcos Farmers Market, 111 East San Antonio Street, adjacent to the Historic Courthouse from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event will include information and activities from the Community Meeting.

In addition to the in-person events, a virtual survey option will be available from September 16 to October 4. A physical take-home toolkit will also be available for pick-up in the Planning & Development Services Department.

“We invite you to participate and share comments with us to ensure that we continue to strengthen a San Marcos that is inclusive of our community’s needs and articulates the vision and goals that are most important to our community,” said Planning Manager Andrea Villalobos. “By offering a hybrid approach of in-person, virtual, and take-home engagement opportunities, we hope we can ensure all residents feel safe in participating in this important project.”

For additional questions, or to pick up a toolkit please contact the Planning and Development Services Department at planninginfo@sanmarcostx.gov or call 512.393.8230. More details can be found at www.visionsmtx.com.

About Vision SMTX: The City Council provided direction to rewrite the City’s current comprehensive plan, Vision San Marcos, originally adopted in 2013. This comprehensive plan rewrite project, known as Vision SMTX, will establish the goals and vision for the future of San Marcos for the next 20 years.
