Gary Job Corps Partners With City of Kyle

Maria Castillo, Gary Job Corps student is interning with the Kyle City Manager’s Office, digitizing community development and zoning documents compiled over a 10 year period.

City Manager Scott Sellers stated “we have been impressed by the professionalism that has been shown by Maria, what she is doing has been saving the city in not only dollars but countless hours of storing documents”.

Further, Scott said “ we have worked with the students from the Gary Job Corps in the past in the construction of the aerating windmills at Lake Kyle, students assisting in Kyle Market Days and participating with setting up the Kyle Chamber of Commerce Business to Business Expo and Health Fair”.

Future plans are to have Electrical and HVAC students intern with the Kyle Maintenance Department and Administration students with the Kyle Chamber of Commerce.
