UPDATED WED 4:45 PM: Local School Districts Provide Update On Weather Related Schedule Changes

This article will be updated as more school districts release updates. Stay Tuned:

San Marcos CISD

All San Marcos CISD campuses and offices will remain closed for the rest of the week. No school, in-person or remote, will take place for the remainder of the week and SMCISD will return to regular district operations on Monday, February 22, 2021.

SMCISD will utilize TEA’s inclement weather waiver for district closures on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week. Friday will be considered a bad weather day for SMCISD.

This will allow SMCISD to maintain our current academic calendar for the remainder of the year but most importantly, this allows our families to focus on their well-being and safety during another unprecedented situation.

Wimberley ISD

On Monday, due to ongoing weather conditions, Wimberley ISD canceled school on Tuesday, February 16 and Wednesday, February 17. District and campus administrators will reevaluate conditions on Wednesday morning and determine whether school can be held on Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19.

Communication will be sent prior to noon on Wednesday notifying parents if school will be held on Thursday or not.

Dripping Springs ISD

Dripping Springs ISD is extending the district closure through the end of the week. All campuses will be closed for both in-person and remote learning on Thursday (previously announced) and Friday. This applies to all events, activities, and the Child Development Center.

Hays CISD

All Hays CISD school, including virtual learning, is canceled until Monday, February 22, 2021.

All students and staff should remain home and safe, with the limited exception of staff members who may be contacted by supervisors in the event they are needed for emergency operations.

All extracurricular and afterschool activities are canceled through Friday, February 19. Weather and safety permitting, planned activities on Saturday should be able to resume, but check with coaches and sponsors to confirm that events scheduled for the weekend have not been canceled.

Texas State University

Texas State University will be closed through 8 a.m. Saturday, February 20 due to inclement weather and continued power outages which have impacted multiple university systems, including phone lines and computer networks.

All classes and events are canceled, including virtual/online classes and events. University offices will remain closed. Only designated critical personnel should report to work on the campuses.

The university will continue to monitor weather and road conditions and will announce the operational status of our campuses beyond 8 a.m. on Saturday no later than Friday, February 19 at 5 pm.
