Five COVID-related fatalities reported today in Hays County

Hays County Courthouse, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports five COVID-related fatalities: an Austin man in his 80s, a Buda woman in her 40s, a Kyle woman in her 80s, a Kyle woman in her 70s, and a San Marcos woman in her 60s. The department also reports 203 new lab-confirmed cases along with six (6) new hospitalizations and seven (7) new hospital discharges. There are 238 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 21,785.

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 24,310. Hays County has 2,222 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 3,163 active cases. Hays County has had 1,140 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 49 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 38 are unvaccinated.
