Chamber Members To Hear State Of The City From Kyle Mayor

Kyle business community demonstrates great interest in hearing about the future, through record numbers at Kyle Chamber’s State of the City Address.

Kyle, Texas – During Tuesday’s State of the City Address, Kyle Mayor Travis Mitchell will make several “big” announcements. The address takes place on Tuesday, July 24, during the Kyle Chamber Luncheon, which begins at 11:30 a.m. at Texas Old Town’s Sage Hall, located at 1205 Roland Lane, in Kyle.

“Mayor Mitchell will focus on issues identified by our Kyle business community, including future economic development projects, road improvements, infrastructure and the 2018-19 proposed budget,” Kyle Chamber CEO Julie Snyder said. “We look forward to hearing about the city’s progress and its future to sustain a strong local economy.”

Mitchell is expected to discuss many issues, but perhaps most importantly, cash funding the reconstruction of Old Stagecoach Road and the proposed creation of a special taxing district to jumpstart mixed-used development in Uptown Kyle.

“This road project will be proposed to council in the upcoming budget. It will take about a year to engineer and another 18 months for construction, but all things considered, this is a huge win for mobility in Kyle,” Mitchell said.

Snyder said she is excited about Mitchell’s address.

“This luncheon is an excellent opportunity to hear straight from the source what is happening in and around Kyle,” Snyder said. “Tomorrow we will learn about what the council is working on for the future and how it directly impacts our business community.”
