Texas State Football Team Begins Fall Camp on Monday Morning

San Marcos, Texas – Next Monday will mark a dawn of a new era for the Texas State football team when the Bobcats open their 2016 Fall Camp at 7 a.m. under new head coach Everett Withers. The Bobcats will practice in shorts and helmets during the first two days of camp on Monday and Tuesday morning. They will work out in Bobcat gear on Wednesday and Thursday beginning at 7 a.m. before their first practice in full pads on Friday 9:20.

Texas State kicks off its 2016 season on Sept. 3 when the Bobcats travel to Ohio University. After playing at Arkansas on Sept. 17, Texas State will play its first home game against preseason No. 12-ranked Houston on Sept. 24 and host Incarnate Word on Oct. 1.

Below is a table with some key dates and times for the first week, Media Day and first two scrimmages.  Please tale note that our media day on Sunday morning, August 14, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Warren Room of the End Zone Complex. Coach Withers and eight players will be available for interviews beginning at 10 a.m. We also are shooting the team photos just before that beginning at 9 a.m.

I will send you a full schedule of practices on each Friday afternoon. As you can see the first four practices are at Bobcat Stadium with any workouts in full pads taking place on the practice fields.

As was the case during the spring you can shoot video during the first 30 minutes and we will meet with Coach Withers for interviews at the conclusion that is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
