183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of October 4

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term

LANE CLOSURE — 10/1/21 to 10/5/21 — PAVING
Friday, Monday, Tuesday (10/1, 10/4-10/5) 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the northbound right lane of the US 183 mainlanes and northbound left lane of the US 183 general-purpose lanes between Manor/Springdale Road and US 290 will be closed.

SHOULDER CLOSURE — 10/4/21 to 10/9/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Monday-Saturday (10/4-9) 7 a.m.-5 p.m., shoulders on US 183 mainlanes/183 Toll between US 290 and SH 71 in both directions will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/4/21 to 10/5/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Tuesday (10/4-5) 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the left lane of the southbound US 183 mainlanes between Loyola Lane and US 290 will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/4/21 to 10/5/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Tuesday (10/4-5) 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the left lane of southbound 183 Toll between Bolm Road and Smith Road will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/4/21 to 10/7/21 — CLEARING
Monday-Thursday(10/4-7) 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the right lane of the northbound and southbound US 183 general-purpose lanes between Interchange Boulevard and Techni Center Drive will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/4/21 to 10/7/21 — CLEARING
Monday-Thursday (10/4-7) 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the right lane of the northbound and southbound US 183 general-purpose lanes between Patton Avenue and Montopolis Drive will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/4/21 to 10/5/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Tuesday (10/4-5) 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the left lane of southbound 183 Toll between Loyola Lane and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/4/21 to 10/6/21 — PAVING
Monday-Wednesday (10/4-6) 8 p.m.-6 a.m., the southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 ramp will be reduced to one lane.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/4/21 to 10/6/21 — PAVING
Monday-Wednesday (10/4-6) 8 p.m.-6 a.m., westbound SH 71 between Brandt Drive and Riverside Drive will be reduced to one lane.

RAMP CLOSURE — 10/6/21 to 10/7/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Thursday (10/6-7) 8 p.m.-6 a.m., the ramp from westbound SH 71 to southbound US 183 will be closed. Detour to Riverside U-turn.
