Aging Is Cool Announces 2019 Summer Camp For Adults Age 60+

AUSTIN, Tex. — Aging is Cool, a Central Texas business with the goal of keeping older adults mentally and physically active, announces its annual summer camp for adults age 60 and older.

Camp Meraki is a day- camp experience to be held May 8th and 9th at John Knox Ranch, a popular summer-camp venue nestled along the banks of the scenic Blanco River.

“We want to bring the magic of summer camp to *kids* age 60+, whether or not they ever had that experience before.” said Amy Temperley, co-founder/owner of Aging is Cool. “Camp Meraki is a chance to let loose, laugh, have fun, enjoy nature and make some new friends.”

Camp Meraki features everything a traditional camp offers: canoeing, archery, campfire, sing-a-longs, and team building activities. Each day camp begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. Included in the $100 cost are all activities, snacks, lunch and lots of fun.

“The opportunities we might have had once to stay active, engage in learning, and find meaningful social activities change as we age.,” said Temperley. “Aging is Cool and Camp Meraki help fill gaps for people aged 60+ with specially-designed programs, whether it’s to feel like a kid again at camp or engage in physical or mental fitness with like-minded older adults.”

Registration for Camp Meraki is now open. For more information, go to www.agingiscool.com/camp-meraki.
