APD seeks public’s assistance with identifying shooting suspect

The Austin Police Department’s (APD) Aggravated Assault Unit is requesting public assistance with identifying a suspect who was involved in a shooting.

The incident occurred at the El Pollo Rico at 9435 N IH 35 SVRD on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, around 9 PM.

The suspect approached the victim from behind and fired one round into the victim’s back. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Suspect description: 
–     Hispanic or Middle Eastern male
–     In his late teens or early 20s
–     White T-shirt
–     Dark pants
–     White shoes
–     Chinstrap style beard
–     Right arm has tattoo sleeve 
–     Tattoo on upper left arm
–     Appears to be left-handed

Suspect vehicle description:
–     Possibly 2016-2021 Mazda CX-3
–     Dark gray or black
