Austin’s 2017 United States Grand Prix Weekend

The 2017 Formula One United States Grand Prix will occur this weekend, October 20-22, at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA).

The 2017 Formula One United States Grand Prix will occur this weekend, October 20-22, at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA).

For transportation to the event, shuttles will be running to and from COTA from the Travis County Expo Center and the Austin Convention Center downtown. The downtown shuttle will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, and both the downtown and Travis County Exp Center shuttle will run from 7 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

To accommodate the downtown shuttle, Trinity Street from Cesar Chavez to 4th Street and 2nd Street from San Jacinto Boulevard to Trinity Street will be closed throughout the weekend. There will be no through traffic to Trinity Street from 3rd Street, and San Jacinto Boulevard will be restricted to one east side lane from 2nd to 7th Streets.

People should expect significant delays and changes to traffic patterns in the area around Circuit of the Americas including on Highway 130, FM 812, FM 973, Pearce Lane and other local roads adjacent to the circuit.

To help passengers fly smoothly through F1, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is preparing with extra customer service representatives and special music performances to welcome fans and to provide an Austin-style send off after the race.

All passengers are advised to be in the Austin airport terminals two hours before departure time.  Busiest days are expected on Sunday evening, Oct. 22 and Monday, Oct. 23, when airport traffic increases with post-race departing passengers.
