Buda to accept applications for New Library Strategic Planning Committee

Staff Reports

BUDA — The City of Buda is accepting applications for the new Library Strategic Planning Committee (LSPC) through 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 24, 2022.

Buda’s LSPC will advise and provide guidance to the City Council and staff regarding the library’s strategic plan update. A citizen’s point of view provides valuable input into the operations of the City’s and Council’s decision-making process.

The job of Board and Commission members is crucial to the success of Buda’s representative government.

“Ultimately, we are striving to get broader citizen input and engagement,” Buda Library Director Melinda Hodges said.

“This body will be considering Buda-area demographics and a variety of other city-related plans, performing SWOT analysis and analyzing a community survey in order to determine overarching goals for the Buda Library over the next five years,” Hodges explained. “Being a current library user isn’t required; we want to hear from community members with different experiences and opinions.”

The work the LSPC conducts affects the City of Buda’s Library’s accreditation status by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

Interested Buda residents may apply to be on the LSPC by completing the online application form (http://www.ci.buda.tx.us/FormCenter/City-Clerk-ApplicationRegistration-5/2021-Board-Application-Form-72) on the City of Buda website.
