San Marcos CISD Recognizes Retirees

On the evening of May 18, 2019, San Marcos CISD hosted a dinner for 19 retiring employees who together represented 605 years of service to education.

Families, friends, administrators, and School Board members gathered to recognize the retirees at the event coordinated by the Department of Human Resources.

Five retirees had 40 or more years of service, eight had 30-39 years to their credit, four had 20-29 years, and two had less than 20 years of service. Each was called to the front and presented with a certificate and an engraved gift.

The 19 retirees included: Daniel Hernandez (Miller Middle School), Maria Ernestina Martinez (Miller Middle School), Judy Mitchell (Phoenix), Rose Torres (Lamar/Phoenix), Etelvina Crosby (Bonham Pre-K), Mary Ann Mendez (Custodian/Floater), Rachel Juarez (Transportation), Juanita Hernandez (Mendez Elementary), Dixie Johnette Niemietz (Mendez Elementary), Cheryl Blake (Goodnight Middle School), Marie Vaquera (San Marcos High School), Mary Jo Patton (Bowie Elementary), Rosemary Hernandez (De Zavala Elementary), Cynthia Mosier (De Zavala Elementary), Carla Roberts (De Zavala Elementary), Martha Landeros (De Zavala Elementary), Monique Biotnott (Parenting Program), Iris Campbell (Public Information Officer), and Norma Ventura (Crockett Elementary).
