Anderson left Sunnyvale (Texas) as the Economic Development Director, where she has been since July 2017. Sunnyvale Economic Development is a 4A and 4B Development Corporation. She brought in over one million square feet of commercial development, over $64 million in expansion projects, assisted with the first mixed-use project in the town, worked on the purchase of a 4.4 mile Rails to Trails project, created the first Sunnyvale Economic Development Corporation Strategic Plan, and created the first SEDC Incentive Policy.

“I want to thank the Town of Sunnyvale and the Sunnyvale Economic Development Board of Directors for allowing me to serve as the organization’s Economic Development Director. It has truly been an honor. It is sad to leave, but I am excited for what the future holds and to return to Central Texas,” said Anderson.

Previously, Anderson worked in Central Texas as Vice President and BRE Manager for the Taylor Economic Development Corporation; Assistant Director of the Pflugerville Economic Development Corporation; as well as the Executive Director for the Cibolo Economic Development Corporation and as a consultant with the Mike Barnes Group.

“The Buda Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors have been deliberate and patient in the search for an Executive Director,” said Board President Jennifer Storm, “Traci’s experience and connections with the business community will help us achieve Buda’s goals and objectives for economic development.” Board President Storm continued, “Traci’s proven ability to develop relationships and recruitment efforts to attract capital investments will be extremely helpful in her economic development role.”

Anderson and her husband Jared, along with their children, plan to relocate from Rockwall, TX to Buda in the coming months, and will begin her role with Buda on Oct. 28.

“Buda is a fast-growing community with the benefits of small-town charm in the heart of the Austin-San Marcos Metropolitan area, and I look forward to working with businesses to promote success in conjunction with economic development goals,” said Anderson.

Anderson graduated from the University of San Antonio with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology. She is also a certified economic developer through the International Economic Development Council and plans to attend graduate school.

“We look forward to Traci joining our team,” said Board President Storm. “She is well-known in the Austin region and will work to provide the resources to meet Buda’s needs. We have found the best candidate for the job in Mrs. Anderson.”
