Central Texas Cities Fall Off Top Five Of US Census’ Fastest Growing Cities

Although, Texas is still home to ten of the top 15 fastest growing cities in the United States, Central Texas has fallen short of previous years.

Central Texas has sat on the United States Census list of fastest growing cities in the U.S. for the last five years—until now.

While the state still sits at the top of the fastest growing Cities in regards to population, the U.S. Censuses latest report shows Central Texas cities no longer sit in the spotlight.

According to U.S. Census, in July 1, 2015 to July 1, 2016, Conroe, Texas sat at the top of the 15 fastest growing Southern Cities with 7.8 percent population growth.

In 2015-2016, Georgetown ranked the fifth largest with 5.5 percent ousting San Marcos, Texas from its three-year reign on top.

Although, Texas is still home to ten of the top 15 fastest growing cities in the United States, Central Texas has fallen short of previous years.

Conroe, Texas, Frisco, Texas, McKinney, Texas and Georgetown, Texas, have taken the spotlight.
