Hays County reports seven COVID-related fatalities over the weekend

Hays County Courthouse, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports seven COVID-related fatalities: an Austin woman in her 60s, a Buda man in his 80s, a Buda woman in her 80s, a Kyle man in his 30s, a San Marcos woman in her 70s, a San Marcos man in his 50s, and a San Marcos man in his 80s.

This report covers September 11-13, 2021. The department also reports 273 new lab-confirmed cases along with 24 new hospitalizations and 23 new hospital discharges. There are 267 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 24,743.

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 26,942. Hays County has 1,859 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 2,896 active cases. Hays County has had 1,239 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 61 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 59 are unvaccinated, which is about 97 percent.

  • M-F, Pfizer, Moderna and J&J, plus COVID-19 testing @ Old Walnut Springs School, 300 Sportsplex Dr, Dripping Springs, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
