218 Co-Op Gallery Starts New Monthly Coffee Mates Gathering

Creating community around the arts in San Marcos is one of the core goals the cooperative established early on and Coffee Mates are a fun way to get that process rolling.

San Marcos, TX — The Artist/Owners at 218 Co-op Gallery have been working through the heat of the summer to get the day to day routine and structure of their new venture in place. With the return of the school year, more regular schedules and slightly cooler weather, they’ve decided to open their doors a bit early each second Saturday for a community coffee time.

Starting up the co-op gallery, they quickly realized the group of 12 functioned much like a ship’s crew. They have unofficial Cap’n, Purser and Mates, so Coffee Mates follows nicely in the sailing theme. They say not to worry, however, they’ll be serving real half & half–not powdered non-dairy creamer–with their coffee this weekend.

Creating community around the arts in San Marcos is one of the core goals the cooperative established early on and Coffee Mates are a fun way to get that process rolling. 218 Artist Karen Cross says, “With Art Squared and the Farmer’s Market both happening that day, it’s a natural fit for us to open a bit early to invite folks already out and about into the gallery.” They are inviting all community members with a love for art and coffee to join them each second Saturday between 10 AM and noon.

Details for the event can be found on their Facebook page. (http://tinyurl.com/y9abhpfo)
