Hays County reports three COVID-related fatalities, 26 current hospitalizations

HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports three COVID-related fatalities: a Kyle man in his 50s, a Kyle woman in her 80s, and a Wimberley woman in her 40s.

The department also reports 174 new lab-confirmed cases along with nine (9) new hospitalizations and 15 new hospital discharges. This report covers October 9-12, 2021.

There are 257 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 28,014. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 29,137. Hays County has 741 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 1,312 active cases.

Hays County has had 1,323 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 26 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 25 (96%) are unvaccinated.
