Hays County Sheriff Joins Super Bowl Champion Tony Hills For Event

On Thursday, Oct. 12, Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler, several Hays County Deputies, and officers with the Buda Police Department joined Lifetime Longhorn and Super Bowl Champion Tony Hills and the BamFam Foundation First Down Ride-Along Program at Johnson Highschool for a very special event.

This free program is designed to help bridge the gap between the local community and their Police department through a curriculum-based Q&A and sports clinic for at-risk youth with the help of a professional athlete.

For this program, the BamFam Foundation partners with a professional athlete, local law enforcement officers, and local schools and community centers.

The athlete then drives an officer around the community they patrol and has an open conversation about the needs of that community.

Together they then host a sports clinic and Q&A session at a local school or community center with at-risk youth and bring a positive experience for the youth to interact with the law enforcement officers in their community.

The BamFam Foundation aims to foster positive relationships, experiences, and productive citizens by engaging youth in dynamic sport-related community programs and events by working in partnership with professional athletes, counselors, teachers, law enforcement, military, first responders, and other community-based organizations.
