While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do
everything they can to minimize disruptions.
I-35 CORRIDOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
MONDAY 10/15 – FRIDAY 10/19
I-35 CORRIDOR MAINTENANCE CLOSURES
PROJECT OVERVIEW | These lane closures are associated with on going maintenance activities throughout the corridor.

Closures are weather permitting
- Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between FM 2001 and Robert S Light Blvd. | 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, October 14
- Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between Kohlers Crossing and FM 1626. | 9 PM until 5 AM Monday, October 15
- Southbound I-35 Airport Blvd exit (237) and frontage road left lane closed between Reinli St. and 49th St. The 51st St intersection bypass lane will also close. | 8 PM until 5 AM Monday, October 15

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at William Cannon Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, October 15 through Friday, October 19
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at William Cannon Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, October 15 and Tuesday, October 16
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between William Cannon Dr. and Slaughter Creek overpass. | 9 PM until 5 AM Tuesday, October 16
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Stassney Ln. | 9 PM until 5 AM Tuesday, October 16 through Thursday, October 18
- I-35 frontage left lane closed in both directions at Stassney Ln. | 9 PM until 5 AM Wednesday, October 17 and Thursday, October 18
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between William Cannon Dr. and Nelms Rd. | 9 PM until 5 AM Thursday, October 18
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed by flaggers as needed between Woodward St. and Royal Hill Ln. | 8 AM until 5 PM Monday, October 15 through Friday, October 19

I-35 AT OLTORF ST.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane at Oltorf St. Traffic will detour via Woodland Ave./Oltorf St. exit ramp (232). | 11 PM until 5 AM Monday, October 15 and Tuesday, October 16
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane at Oltorf St. Traffic will detour via Woodland Ave./Oltorf St. exit ramp (232). | 11 PM until 5 AM Monday, October 15 and Tuesday, October 16
- North and southbound I-35 fully closed between Oltorf St. and Woodland Ave. Traffic will detour to the frontage road. | 11 PM until 5 AM Wednesday, October 17
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Woodland Ave. exit ramp and the following entrance ramp. | 10 PM until 6 AM Thursday, October 18
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Woodland Ave. and Oltorf St. | 10 PM until 6 AM Thursday, October 18

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main-lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.
The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.

- Powell Ln. closed at southbound I-35. Use Wonsley Dr. | Through winter 2018
- Clock Tower Dr closed at northbound US 183. | Through winter 2018
- Carver Ave. closed at southbound US 183. | Through winter 2018
- Northbound I-35 exit ramp to Rundberg Ln. closed. Please use another exit. Expect alternating frontage road closures. Frontage road will shift to new lanes. | 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, October 14 through Tuesday, October 16
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at US 290 E. | 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, October 14 through Tuesday, October 16
- The south to northbound U-turn closed at I-35 and US 183. | 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, October 14 through Tuesday, October 16
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Blackson Ave. and US 183. | 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, October 14 through Thursday, October 18

I-35 AT FM 3406
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge will close to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge. | Until summer 2018, weather permitting.

- The north to southbound U-turn closed at FM 3406. | 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, October 14 through Tuesday, October 16
- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane at FM 3406. | 9 PM until 5 AM Wednesday, October 17 and Thursday, October 18
- Various closures southbound I-35 frontage road at FM 3406. | 9 PM until 5 AM Wednesday, October 17 and Thursday, October 18

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH
PROJECT ACTIVITY | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hesters Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.
The northbound and southbound intersections of US 79 and the I-35 frontage roads are also being reconstructed to add a third left-turn for westbound US 79.
