Some 2,500 Students And More Than 150 Teachers Return To Class In Wimberley Yesterday

The District starts the new year with an A rating from the Texas Education Agency with all campuses having scored “Met Standard.”

First day jitters, new backpacks and great attitudes graced Wimberley ISD teachers on the first day of school August 15. Principals on traffic patrol greeted parents and students as they made their way back to familiar teachers and friends. Other students braved new hallways and classrooms.

“We are off to a great start! Every year, we expect some of our new sixth graders to be a little nervous, so everyone on the Danforth team goes above and beyond to make them welcome,” said Greg Howard, Danforth Junior High School Principal. “We are looking forward to more great achievements from our students and teachers,” he added.

All the District principals look forward to making it a fun and exciting time for students. Other returning principals include Dara Richardson at Scudder Primary School, Andrea Pope at Jacob’s Well Elementary School and Jason Valentine at Wimberley High School.

“While the first day is an exciting time for all of us, our enthusiastic teachers and staff at Jacob’s Well make every day special all year long. So, we plan to keep the first day momentum going,” said Pope.
