Keep San Marcos Beautiful Presents ‘Live On The Lawn’

Local organizations have been invited to host interactive booths about recycling, composting and growing your own food to educate San Marcos residents and visitors of all ages.

Keep San Marcos Beautiful presents the first Live on the Lawn concert this Thursday, March 23 with Hell Camino.

Pre-concert events start at 6:30 p.m. at the San Marcos Plaza Park stage, 401 E. Hopkins, located at the corner of CM Allen Parkway and Hopkins.

Hell Camino: A classic rock cover band from San Marcos, Hell Camino covers high energy rock music of the seventies and eighties, from bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, AC/DC and Queen. Band members include: Richard Neito (bass), Edward Alcala (guitar), Allen Krueger (drums), and Ken Pridgeon (vocals)

Recycling and Food Booths

Local organizations have been invited to host interactive booths about recycling, composting and growing your own food to educate San Marcos residents and visitors of all ages. Food Is Free SM will be raffling off three native fruit trees. Special thanks to Thigh High Gardens for providing the trees.

Pre-concert events begin at 6:30 p.m., and concert headliners take the stage at approximately 7:30 p.m. Free public, on-street parking is available within walking distance of the concert, as well as at City Park. In case of severe weather, spring concert series will be moved to The Marc.

The parking lot at the Chamber of Commerce will be closed to the general public, and parking attendants will be on hand to allow for volunteer, vendor, and sponsor parking. Handicapped parking is available in the Grant Harris, Jr. Building parking lot.

The public is invited to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the free concert. Responsible use of alcohol is allowed at this event for those over 21. Under park rules Styrofoam, glass, and smoking are not permitted. Texas State University’s Human Environment Animal Team (H.E.A.T.) will be selling concessions.

This event is made possible by support from Grande Communications, Root Cellar Café, Texas Disposal Systems, Verts Mediterranean Grill, Central Texas Medical Center, Carson Properties, The Hitch, Mensor, and Tickle-Blagg Animal Hospital.

  • March 30: The Railhouse Band
  • April 6: The San Martian Quartet
  • April 13: The Revs (in conjunction with the Spring Carnival)
