Early Voting In Hays County Ends Today

According to the Hays County Elections Administrator, Jennifer Anderson, only 1,058 of San Marcos 40,084 eligible voters had voted in person by 3:53 PM on Thursday, December 6.

Early Voting for the December 2018 Runoff Election in Hays County ends today at 7 PM.

Hays County is holding runoff elections for the City of San Marcos City Council Place 5 and Place 5, the Austin Community College Board of Trustees and the City of Austin City Council District 8 position.

According to the Hays County Elections Administrator, Jennifer Anderson, only 1,058 of San Marcos voters had voted in person by 3:53 PM on Thursday, December 6.

Anderson said the elections office has also received approximately 160 mail-in absentee ballots.

Running for Place Four are Mark Rockeymoore and Shane Scott, and for Place Five are Jocabed “Joca” Marquez and Rick Henderson.

During a special meeting on Wednesday, November 14, the results of the Nov. 6 election were canvassed, and Hughson and Derrick were sworn in.

The runoff results will be canvassed, and the new City Council members will be sworn in on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m. a City Hall, 630 E. Hopkins. Election day for the runoff races will be Tuesday, December 11.
