City Sponsors Fall Rain Barrel Sale

Once again, the City of San Marcos is partnering with RainWater Solutions to offer their popular 50 gallon “Ivy” rain barrels at exceptional prices until Oct.19. The larger 65-gallon “Moby” rain barrel is also available for purchase.
The cost of the Ivy is $67 each and the Moby is $106 each. City of San Marcos water customers are eligible for a $0.50 per gallon rebate, bringing the final cost to only $42 for the Ivy and $73.50 for the Moby.
You do not have to be a San Marcos resident to purchase the barrels, but only City water customers are eligible for the rebate.
“These rain barrels have been extremely popular,” said Jan Klein, Conservation Coordinator. “They are perfect for those that want to collect enough rain water for flower beds or potted plants, and are also great for collecting air conditioning condensate.”
Here’s how it works:
1.) Purchase your barrels online by Oct. 19 at www.rainbarrelprogram.org/sanmarcos.
2.) Pick up your barrels at the San Marcos City Hall Complex on Saturday, Oct. 25 between 9 a.m. and noon.
3.) City of San Marcos water customers submit rebate application along with copy of purchase receipt.
Both the Ivy and Moby are made in the USA of 100% recycled materials. They come complete with all fittings including a standard garden hose spigotand overflow hose, and have a child-proof locking lid for safety and a bug-proof screen to keep out pests.
