LCRA Accepting Applications For Community Grants In Their Service Area

The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), during one of its most recent grant cycles, awarded $478,053 in grants for community projects in the LCRA wholesale electric and water service areas.

Applications for the next round of grants were accepted Jan. 1 with continued submissions through Jan. 31.

Grants up to $50,000 are awarded twice a year to local governments, emergency responders and nonprofit organizations. Applicants requesting $5,000 or more in grant funding must supply matching funds of at least 20 percent of the grant amount.

Grants larger than $25,000 are intended for particularly impressive and noteworthy projects with a far-reaching impact on a broad community.
