Happy New Year from Corridor News!

As the ball dropped last night and people counted down the seconds to the New Year, we couldn’t help but reflect on everything San Marcos and surrounding Hays County had overcome in 2021.
There have been many memorable events that took place in 2021, like the pandemic that was supposed to last two weeks stretching into two years- lets hope we see a lot less of COVID-19 in 2022. Other experiences from 2021 include navigating students returning to classrooms, power outages with Winter Storm Uri, local elections, and everything in between.
The Corridor News Team grew this year, and some changes took place in our staff. Terra Rivers left the Corridor News Team but still stays close to our family and helps run our website. Sierra Martin joined the team in February as Managing Editor and works alongside our devoted publisher, Melissa Jewett.
Some new furry friends were added to the family, and Melissa welcomed two Catahoula Leopard pups into her home. Lilly and Cooper, brother and sister, were adorable puppies who quickly grew into the intelligent, energetic and lovable dogs they are today.
Looking toward the new year, Corridor News is excited to continue bringing local stories to the community.
The Innovation Corridor has seen tremendous growth and progress over the past several years, and we are looking forward to reporting on how that affects residents.
From city council, breaking news, and crime stories to critical state and national topics, San Marcos Corridor News will continue to provide the community with relevant stories in 2022.
