Prescribed Burn Friday In North Hays County
Austin Water’s Wildland Conservation Division plans to conduct a prescribed burn on approximately 200 acres of the Water Quality Protection Lands in northern Hays County.
When: Friday February 5th

Why: Prescribed burns safely mimic the natural fire cycle and maintain fire-resilient landscapes for the benefit of people, water, and wildlife. Visit www.austintexs.gov/rxfire for more information.
How: Austin Water’s Wildland Conservation Division in cooperation with the Austin Fire Department and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will manage the prescribed burn to ensure it is carried out safely.
The burn area will be patrolled for at least a week to ensure the fire is safely out.
