Texas State Men’s Basketball To Hold Hurricane Relief Exhibition

Texas State and the Hilltoppers have played each other 63 times during the regular season in the all-time series with the first meeting taking place in the 1923-24 season.

San Marcos – The Texas State men’s basketball team will join the multitude of Division I men’s basketball programs that are helping raise funds for hurricane relief efforts. The Bobcats will host St. Edward’s at 7 p.m. in Strahan Coliseum on Thursday, Nov. 2.

 

All proceeds from the game will go directly to the United Way Jefferson County (https://www.unitedwaymsjc.org/donate) to support the Beaumont, Texas community in the recovery effort from Hurricane Harvey. Admission to the game is free, while donations are encouraged with the Diamond Sweethearts collecting at the doors and throughout the stands during the game.

 

Texas State and the Hilltoppers have played each other 63 times during the regular season in the all-time series with the first meeting taking place in the 1923-24 season. The last time the teams met on the hardwood was for an exhibition game on Oct. 30, 2010 in Strahan Coliseum.

 

It will be the first of two exhibition contests for the Bobcats. Two days later (Nov. 4) they will play their previously scheduled game against Rogers State at 7 p.m.
