Household Affordability CodeNEXT Prescription Released, Community Input Sought

Public invited to community walk, online discussions

The City of Austin has released its second of four CodeNEXT “Prescriptions,” recommendations created to stimulate discussion on quality of life issues for Austinites and how those issues relate to rewriting the Land Development Code.

The topic of this Prescription is Household Affordability, and is intended to start a discussion on how the City can better address affordability issues in the Land Development Code rewrite. You can view the Prescription here.

These papers and the feedback they generate will directly affect what is written into the new Land Development Code and is meant to be a platform to discuss tradeoffs.

The Prescriptions are released every other month. The Natural and Built Environment Prescription Paper was released in March 2016. A Mobility Prescription Paper will be released in July 2016, and a Fiscal Health paper will be released in September 2016.
