San Marcos Police Continue Search For Homicide Suspect

The San Marcos Police Department is seeking information from the public on a shooting that left one man dead and another seriously injured Jan. 12.

Earl Edward Clark III (DOB 01/06/1973) of San Antonio was found deceased with multiple gunshot wounds in a common area of an apartment complex in the 500 block of Linda Lane. Another person with Clark was found shot multiple times with life-threatening injuries.

The injured victim identified as Jay Ryan Guerrero (DOB 9/14/1995), also from San Antonio, was transported to a Central Texas trauma hospital. Police are not releasing the name of the hospital or Guerrero’s condition for security reasons.

Police responded to a 911 call of shots fired and reports by residents of the Townwood Apartment complex of a person lying on the ground at approximately 11:14 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12. The victims of this shooting are not residents of the complex.

Detectives have received several leads and are actively following up on them. Investigators are processing numerous items of physical evidence recovered from the scene, and there is an extensive list of involved persons to interview.

Police believe Clark and the surviving victim have no apparent ties to San Marcos.
