SMTX City Council To Consider Projects For $722,904 In CDBG Funding

The San Marcos City Council is seeking comments on proposed programs and projects to be allocated funding in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2020-2021 Action Plan.

Comments will be accepted during a virtual public hearing at the City Council virtual meeting on Tuesday, June 16 at 6 PM.

Projects and programs to be considered were submitted during the March 27 to May 1 application period for the $722,904 in annual CDBG allocated funds.

Projects under consideration must satisfy a national CDBG program objective and address one or more of the priority needs for San Marcos: affordable housing, public services, public facilities, or economic development.

Due to the virtual nature of the public hearing, members of the public who would like to speak during the hearing must email citizencomment@sanmarcostx.gov prior to 12 PM on the day of the council meeting (Tuesday, June 16). A call-in number will be provided for participation.

The draft 2020-2021 CDBG Action Plan will be available for public comment on the City’s website at http://www.sanmarcostx.gov/3065/CDBG-Action-Plans from July 5 through August 4.

Comments must be made in writing and should include the sender’s full name and physical address.
