Spots Still Available For After School Programs

Ready, Set, GOAL! The Parks and Recreation Department works to provide the citizens and visitors of San Marcos the highest level of programs, parks, facilities, and services that will positively enhance our vision of the community.

The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Texas State University’s Department of Health and Human Performance, will host two out of school time programs at local middle schools beginning next Tuesday.

Goal:POST (Partnered Out of School Time) will be held at Miller Middle School, and SLOEP (Spring Lake Outdoor Education Program) will be held at Goodnight Middle School. Spots are still available in each program.

Goal:POST participants will have snack and homework time followed by recreational activities led by Texas State University students on campus. SLOEP participants will also begin with snack and homework time followed by a bus ride to the Meadows Center for various outdoor education activities.

Both programs are free and will meet for eight weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Feb. 20 from 4-6 p.m. Goal:POST program dates are Feb. 20, 22, 27, March 1, 6, 8, 20, 22, 27, 29 and April 3, 5, 12, 17, 19, 24. SLOEP program dates are Feb. 20, 22, 27, March 1, 6, 8, 20, 22, 27, 29 and April 5, 17, 19, 24, 26.
