Closures, Detours, Traffic Alerts
for Week of February 24 – March 1
• SPECIAL SXSW LANE CLOSURE(S) •
- Southbound I-35 exits closed between 8th St and Cesar Chavez. Expect heavy traffic and delays. | 10 AM until 3 AM through Saturday, March 16
I-35 AT POSEY ROAD
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will construct a new overpass on I-35 over Posey Road, add two new U-turns in each direction at Posey Road, perform ramp reversals and convert two-way frontage roads to one-way.
Currently, the I-35 mainlanes go under Posey Road. The new configuration will have the I-35 mainlanes going over Posey Road.

HAPPENING NOW- MARCH
- Various northbound I-35 frontage road closures between York Creed Rd and Posey Rd. Exit #199 for Posey Rd will also be closed. Traffic will shift to a one-way configuration starting Monday night. | 9 PM until 5 AM Monday, March 11 through Wednesday, March 13
- Various southbound I-35 frontage road closures between Posey Rd and York Creek Rd. Exit #198 will also be closed. Traffic will shift to a one-way configuration starting Tuesday night. | 9 PM until 5 AM Tuesday, March 12 through Friday, March 15
- Alternating northbound I-35 lane closures at Posey Rd. | 9 PM until 5 AM Wednesday, March 13 through Thursday, March 14
- Alternating southbound I-35 lane closures between Centerpoint Rd and Posey Rd. | 9 PM until 5 AM Thursday, March 14 through Friday, March 15

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between William Cannon Dr and Boggy Creek Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Little Texas Ln and William Cannon Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15
- Westbound William Cannon Dr right turn lane closed at I-35. | Until Friday, March 15

I-35 AT OLTORF ST.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads.
Additionally, construction of new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed across Woodward St. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15
- Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between St. Edwards Dr and Woodward St. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main-lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.
The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.

- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Huntland Dr and US 290 E. | 9 PM until 5 AM Monday, March 11 through Wednesday, March 13
- I-35 left lane closed in both directions between US 290 E and US 183. | 9 PM until 5 AM Monday, March 11 through Wednesday, March 13
- I-35 frontage road left lane closed in both directions at St. Johns Ave. | 9 PM until 5 AM Monday, March 11 through Wednesday, March 13
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Barwood Park and Powell Ln. | 9 PM until 5 AM Monday, March 11 through Wednesday, March 13
- Southbound I-35 left two lanes closed between US 183 and St. Johns Ave. | 11 PM until 5 AM Monday, March 11 through Wednesday, March 13

I-35 AT FM 3406
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge will close to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge.

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH
PROJECT ACTIVITY | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hesters Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.

I-35 AT COUNTY ROAD 305
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the County Road 305 bridge and realign County Road 304 East to connect to the newly constructed bridge. Pedestrian enhancements will also be made within the project limits
