SMPD Beard Patrol Raises $1,210 for Cancer Awareness

The San Marcos Police Department raised more than $1,200 for testicular cancer awareness during “No-Shave November.”

Participating officers and staff members grew beards in November and donated money to the Testicular Cancer Foundation, an Austin-based organization that provides education and support to young men to raise awareness about testicular cancer.

The department presented a check for $1,210 to representatives of TCF on Dec. 2.

Testicular cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among males ages 15 – 35. TCF supports families of testicular cancer patients and shares its resources with the medical and healthcare communities, schools and various young men’s groups.
