Update: I-35 SB Closed As Kyle Police Investigate Auto-Pedestrian Fatality

Update: Police have identified the victim of yesterday’s auto-pedestrian accident as 22-year-old Jonathon Reyes. Justice of the Peace, Beth Smith, has ordered an autospy. 

Police reported the victim suffered no other injuries from the accident.

Kyle, TX – All southbound lanes of Interstate-35 in Kyle are closed near the Center St. / FM 150 exit as Kyle Police investigate an auto-pedestrian fatality that happened just before 9:30 p.m. this evening.

Westbound traffic on the Center St. bridge is also being diverted temporarily.

One male was pronounced deceased by Hays County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Beth Smith just before 10:15 p.m.

Chief Jeff Barnett said his officers and emergency medical personnel remain on the scene.

A crew from the Kyle Fire Department is blocking the interstate lanes while officers conduct the investigation. Barnett estimated the interstate will be closed for approximately four hours.
