Road Construction and Traffic Projects affecting San Marcos traffic May 1 – 7, 2016

 

119 E. SAN ANTONIO: On San Antonio Street between LBJ & Guadalupe, the Kissing Alley will be closed for the Wine and Art Walk on April 29 from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. City of San Marcos Main Street Program, 512.393.8430

 

1900 AQUARENA SPRINGS: Two lanes will be shut down, east bound and center turning lane, to install concrete barriers on May 3 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. weather permitting. Right lane will be open with flaggers to support the flow of traffic. City of San Marcos Traffic Dept., 512.393.8034

 

MLK & S LBJ: Dash 4 Donuts Four Mile Run/Walk April 30 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The event start/finish line is at MLK and S. LBJ. No roads will be closed, but there will be cones in the roadway and officers working traffic control. The course covers numerous streets to include MLK, San Antonio, Comanche Street, Blanco, Endicott, Mitchell and Johnson Streets. SMPOA, 512.618.2463

 

816 HOPKINS: The alley way between 817 Hopkins and Belvin St. will be under construction for street maintenance through April 29 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, weather permitting. Alley will be passable to through traffic. City of San Marcos Streets Dept., 512.393.8025

 

STURGEON ST.: Street maintenance from River Road to the dead end until mid-May, weather permitting, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily. Please park your vehicle off the street or it may be towed at your own expense. City of San Marcos Streets Dept., 512.393.8025

 

LAGO VISTA: Curb, sidewalk and driveway maintenance is scheduled in the Hills of Hays subdivision at the 800 block of Lago Vista through May 13 from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Mon-Friday, weather permitting. This maintenance is part of the city’s ongoing drainage maintenance program. City of San Marcos Drainage Dept., 512.393.8019

 

LP 82 (CHARLES AUSTIN/LAUREL ST): Westbound lanes will be diverted toward the center turn lane on Laurel Street through Charles Austin for scheduled maintenance on barriers May 1 – 2 from 6 p.m. – 5 a.m., weather permitting. TxDOT, 512.619.4676

 

YARRINGTON RD: Two inside south bound main lanes will be closed for maintenance on the Yarrington Bridge April 25 – 29, weather permitting from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily. TxDOT, 737.600.3137

 

EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430

 

LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS:

 

CENTER POINT/TANGER PREMIUM OUTLET INTERSECTION: The intersection for the new traffic signalization project has now been completed.  The state-of-the-art traffic signal and crosswalk improvements were active on April 26 and include audible pedestrian push buttons, countdown pedestrian signals, ADA compliant pedestrian ramps, GPS emergency preemption, high-speed radio communication, video detection with bike presence capabilities, stamped concrete crosswalk, and LED crosswalk lighting. HOLLAND/MOORE ST: Moore Street at Holland will be closed until May 23 to correct traffic flow issues and to make enhancements to the Holland Street entrance into the Speck garage; however, the east entrance into Speck Garage on Academy St. will remain open.

NORTH LBJ FROM CAMARO WAY TO CRADDOCK: This road will be open to two-way traffic, but the lanes will be shifted west to allow space for the City contractor to construct a new lift station on the corner of N. LBJ and Craddock. Project will last until summer 2016. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130

817 CHESTNUT ST: One lane will be closed for new construction to site through June 2. Street will continue to be passable to all traffic. J4 Development, 469.236.0922

MOORE STREET: Moore Street to Holland is closed until May 2016 as well as Read St. to Holland Street will be closed until June 2016 for dormitory construction. Texas State University FPDC, 512.245.2202
