Hays County reports two COVID-related fatalities, 246 new lab-confirmed cases over the weekend

HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports two COVID-related fatalities: a San Marcos man in his 70s and a San Marcos man in his 80s. The department also reports 246 new lab-confirmed cases along with 11 new hospitalizations and 17 new hospital discharges. This report covers September 18-20, 2021.

There are 74 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 25,512. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 27,819. Hays County has 1,958 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 2,760 active cases.

Hays County has had 1,265 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 49 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 43 are unvaccinated, which is about 88 percent.

  • M-F, Drive-thru vaccine clinics offered by MD Diagnostics @ Old Walnut Springs School, 300 Sportsplex Dripping Springs, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
