Zumper June 2019 Rental Price Report: San Marcos Holds Steady As Cheapest At $880

The Zumper Austin Metro Report analyzed active listings in May 2019 across 13 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The state median one-bedroom rent was $951 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

The Most Expensive

Austin, TX rent dropped $20 to $1,180 but continued to rank as the most expensive city.

Georgetown, TX saw rent grow $20 to $1,140 but stay the second priciest city.

Brushy Creek & Hutto, TX tied for third with one bedrooms both priced at $1,100.

The Least Expensive

San Marcos, TX remained the most affordable city with rent at $880.

Wells Branch, TX rent grew $20 to $930 but stayed the second least expensive.

Jollyville, TX dropped to third with rent decreasing $20 to $970.

Growth Rate

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Buda, TX had the fastest growing rent, up 10.3% since this time last year.

Hutto, TX saw rent climb 7.8%, making it second.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Hutto, TX was the only city with a large monthly growth rate, jumping 4.8%.
