Austin — Short and long term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CLOSURES ARE WEATHER PERMITTING AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Austin, Texas — Beginning as early as the evening of Sunday, November 22, 2020*, and lasting approximately five months, the southbound US 183 non-tolled general-purpose lanes between Manor Road and Loyola Lane will be reduced to one lane. The closure is necessary to make concrete pavement repairs in the area.

To minimize the inconvenience to drivers during the closure, the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority will be temporarily allowing southbound US 183 drivers to enter the 183 Toll Road at Manor Road and to use the MLK Blvd/FM 969 exit without paying a toll.

Normal tolls will be charged to drivers who continue south on the 183 Toll Road past the exit signed for MLK Blvd/FM 969.

Monday-Wednesday (1/25-27) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Montopolis Dr. westbound and eastbound left lane will be closed at US 183

• LANE CLOSURE — 01/25/21 to 01/30/21 — CLEARING
Monday-Saturday (1/25-30) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right general-purpose lane in both directions will be closed Manor Rd. to US 290

• RAMP CLOSURE — 01/25/21 to 01/30/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Monday-Saturday (1/25-30) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Boggy Creek Bridge U-turn in both directions will be closed. Not to be closed simultaneously.

• LANE CLOSURE — 01/25/21 to 01/27/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Tuesday (1/25-26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound exit to Montopolis Dr. will be reduced to one lane at Thompson.

• LANE CLOSURE — 01/25/21 to 01/30/21 — DRAINAGE WORK
Monday-Friday (1/25-29) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound right general-purpose lane will be closed from Hudson to Interchange

• LANE CLOSURE — 01/25/21 to 01/28/21 — DRAINAGE WORK
Monday-Wednesday (1/25-27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 left main lane in both directions will be closed from Smith to Hudson

• LANE CLOSURE — 01/25/21 to 01/27/21 —  GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Tuesday (1/25-26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 general-purpose left turn lane at Montopolis Dr. and north to south U-turn at Montopolis Dr. will be closed.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 01/28/21 to 01/29/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Thursday (1/28) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., SH 71 westbound direct connector to US 183 northbound will be closed. Detour E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to 183 northbound ramp.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 01/28/21 to 01/29/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Thursday (1/28) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound to SH 71 eastbound direct connector will be closed. Detour via SH 71 westbound clover leaf to E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to SH 71.
