Hays County reports three COVID fatalities

HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TXHays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports three (3) COVID-related fatalities: a Kyle woman in her 60s, a Kyle man in his 60s, and a San Marcos woman in her 80s.

The department also reports 60 new lab-confirmed cases along with one (1) new hospitalizations and nine (9) new hospital discharges.

There are 109 additional persons considered recovered. During a routine data audit, HCLHD removed 26 cases due to out-of-county or duplicate; six (6) were hospitalizations.

The total number of persons considered recovered is 27,757. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 28,963.

Hays County has 827 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 1,457 active cases. Hays County has had 1,314 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 32 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 27 (84%) are unvaccinated.
