Hays County reports three COVID-related fatalities and 434 new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases over the weekend

Hays County Courthouse, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports three COVID-related fatalities: a Kyle man in his 50s, a San Marcos man in his 90s, and a San Marcos woman in her 60s. The department also reports 434 new lab-confirmed cases along with thirty-one (31) new hospitalizations and thirteen (13) new hospital discharges. This report covers August 14-16, 2021. There are 468 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 20,649. 

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 23,123. Hays County has 2,182 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 3,095 active cases. Hays County has had 1,105 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 67 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 58 are unvaccinated and nine (9) are fully vaccinated.

  • M-F, Walk-in Pfizer vaccine clinics @ CommuniCare, 2810 Dacy Ln., Kyle, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m.  
  • Walk-in Pfizer clinic @ ACC Hays Campus, 1200 Kohlers Crossing, Bldg. 1000 August 17 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. & August 21 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
