The Zumper Austin Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in September 2019 across 7 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Texas one bedroom median rent was $964 last month.

The Most Expensive

Austin was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $1,250.

Cedar Park rent grew 2.7% last month to $1,130 and ranked as the second priciest city.

Georgetown was third with rent at $1,080.

The Least Expensive

San Marcos ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $900.

Round Rock was second with rent at $1,010.

Leander ranked as third with rent down 1.9% to $1,040.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Cedar Park had the fastest growing rent, up 2.7% since this time last year.

Austin saw rent climb 1.6%, making it the second fastest growing.

Pflugerville was third with rent growing 1.0%

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Austin had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 3.3%.

Cedar Park rent jumped 2.7% last month, making it the second fastest growing.

San Marcos ranked as third with rent up 1.1%.
