Discovery Camp Registration Now Open
Registration is open for residents and non-residents for Discovery Camp through the City of San Marcos.
Discovery Camp is a nature and adventure based summer camp for children ages 7-12. There are 9 different themed weeks (please see list and description below) starting June 13 and ending Aug. 12. Each week will be filled with exploring, adventure, and discovery! The campers will get a chance to be outside, do experiments, build things, get messy, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and have fun!
Camp Themes:
- Superhero Week – Campers will learn about fitness, leadership, teamwork and problem solving skills.
- Frozen Week – Campers will learn about the three different forms of water.
- Blast from the Past – Campers will learn about the rich history of Texas.
- Mayhem Week I – Campers will be messy and crazy scientists.
- Blast off Week – Campers will learn about moon, stars, planets, and everything else above. (**This week is located at the Old Fish Hatchery Building**)
- Outdoor Adventure Week – Campers will explore and learn about the great outdoors.
- Mastery Week – Campers will learn how to develop and master critical thinking skills.
- River Rat Week – Campers will learn all about the rivers and Edwards Aquifer.
- Mayhem Week II – Campers will be messy and crazy scientists.
Camp will be held at Dunbar Recreation Center at 801 W. Martin Luther King Dr., Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with a fieldtrip scheduled each week.
