Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/7/21 to 7/11/21 — PAVING
Thursday (7/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (7/9) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday (7/10) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be closed at SH 71 and Eastbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 cloverleaf will be closed at US 183. Detour Spirit of Texas U-turn.

ROAD CLOSURE — 7/8/21 to 7/13/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Thursday-Friday (7/8-7/9), Monday (7/12) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 bypass of MLK Blvd will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/8/21 to 7/13/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Thursday-Friday (7/8-7/9), Monday (7/12) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 main lane will be reduced to one lane from 51st St. to MLK Blvd.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/8/21 to 7/11/21 — PAVING
Friday (7/9) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday (7/9) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Montopolis to Patton and north to south u-turn will be closed at Montopolis Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/9/21 to 7/12/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Friday (7/9) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday (7/12) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound main lane will be closed from Patton to SH 71.

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/9/21 to 7/11/21 — PAVING
Friday (7/9) at 8 p.m. until Sunday (7/11) at 6 p.m., US 183 southbound exit to Bolm Rd. will be closed at Hudson. Detour via US 183 frontage road.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/10/21 to 7/12/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Saturday (7/10) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., Sunday (7/11) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., SH 71 main lanes in both directions will be reduced from Brandt to E. Riverside Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/12/21 to 7/14/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Monday-Tuesday (7/12-7/13) 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mobile Ops US 183 southbound main lane one lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/12/21 to 7/16/21 — LANDSCAPING
Monday-Friday (7/12-7/16) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right frontage road in both directions will be closed from Montopolis to Hudson St.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/12/21 to 7/16/21 — LANDSCAPING
Monday-Friday (7/12-7/16) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right frontage road in both directions will be closed from Hudson St. to Loyola.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/12/21 to 7/12/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
US 183 northbound right main lane will be closed at SH 71.

ROAD CLOSURE — 7/12/21 to 7/13/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday (7/12) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound 1st St/Cesar Chavez will be closed at US 183. Detour Shady Ln to E. 7th St.

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/12/21 to 7/15/21 — PAVING
Monday-Thursday (7/12-7/15) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 direct connector will be closed at US 183. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/12/21 to 7/16/21 — PAVING
Monday-Friday (7/12-7/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound main lane will be reduced to one lane from MLK Blvd. to Loyola.

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/12/21 to 7/13/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (7/12-7/13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Loyola to MLK Blvd.

ROAD CLOSURE — 7/12/21 to 7/14/21 — PAVING
Monday-Wednesday (7/12-7/14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound frontage road will be closed at Manor Rd., detour via Tuscany Way to US 290 frontage road. North to South U-turn at Manor Springdale Rd. will be closed. US 183 north exit to 290 frontage road will be closed, detour via Cameron Rd.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/17/21 to 7/17/21 — PAVING
Saturday (7/17) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., South to North U-turn will be closed at Levander Loop, and Levander Loop will be closed at US 183, detour via Airport Blvd. to south US 183 to Montopolis U-turn.

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/12/21 to 7/15/21 — PAVING
Monday-Thursday (7/12-7/15) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound main lane will be closed at SH 71, and Eastbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 cloverleaf will be closed at US 183. Detour Spirit of Texas U-turn. Westbound SH 71 to Northbound US 183 will be reduced to one lane.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/13/21 to 7/16/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Tuesday-Friday (7/13-7/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound main lane will be reduced to one lane from Loyola to MLK Blvd.

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/13/21 to 7/14/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Wednesday (7/13-7/14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound main lane and general purpose exit to Montopolis will be closed at Interchange. Detour via Airport Blvd. exit to 7th St. to US 183 south.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/13/21 to 7/14/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Wednesday (7/13-7/14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Thompson to Montopolis Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/13/21 to 7/14/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Tuesday-Wednesday (7/13-7/14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops US 183 main lane in both directions from SH 71 to US 290.

ROAD CLOSURE — 7/14/21 to 7/16/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Wednesday-Friday (7/14-7/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound bypass at MLK Blvd. will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/16/21 to 7/18/21 — PAVING
Friday (7/16) at 8 p.m. until Sunday (7/18) at 6 p.m., US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Bluestein Dr. to Techni Center Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/16/21 to 7/18/21 — PAVING
Friday (7/16) at 8 p.m. until Sunday (7/18) at 6 p.m., US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from 51st St. to MLK Blvd.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/17/21 to 7/17/21 — PAVING
Saturday (7/17) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., South to North U-turn will be closed at Levander Loop, and Levander Loop will be closed at US 183, detour via Airport Blvd. to south US 183 to Montopolis U-turn.

Long Term

DETOUR — 5/24/21 to 7/31/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
U-turns north of Boggy Creek closed for barrier repairs. Detour to U-turns at MLK and Levander Loop.
