Boyle Named Interim CEO For Central Texas Medical Center

Jim Boyle is returning to serve as the interim CEO for Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC). Boyle will officially begin responsibilities at the 178-bed facility on Monday, July 6 and will remain in the senior leadership role until a permanent replacement is found. He previously served as interim CEO in 2010.

Boyle is the president and CEO of Summit Leadership Solutions, a consulting firm that specializes in leadership development, board development and executive coaching for health care organizations, churches and boards of directors. Prior to starting his own firm, Boyle served as CEO of Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, Colorado and Senior Vice President for Centura Health in Englewood, Colorado. He has a long history with Adventist Health System (AHS), the parent company of Central Texas Medical Center, including serving as President/CEO of Shawnee Mission Medical Center near Kansas City and in various leadership roles with Florida Hospital in Orlando.

“I am very pleased that Jim Boyle is returning to San Marcos to fill the interim CEO position at CTMC,” said Ken Finch, president and CEO of the Adventist Health System Southwest Region and Board Chairman for the hospital. “He will provide the stability and continuity required during this short interim period and will do it in a way that will continue to advance the mission of CTMC.” added Finch.

Sam Huenergardt, the current CEO, announced earlier this month his that he would be transferring to Parker Adventist Hospital, a Centura Health hospital which is affiliated with Adventist Health System.

“The search for a permanent senior leader is already underway,” added Finch. “Our hope is that we will have that individual selected by early Fall.”
