As of Wednesday morning, San Marcos Police are still looking for a suspect, who fled police

On Tuesday, residents of Saddlebrook neighborhood were advised to remain indoors while police searched for a potentially armed suspect, who was believed to be hiding in the area.

SMPD was assisted by Hays County Sheriff’s Office and other area agencies in the search for a 6-foot-tall, bald Hispanic male with a skinny build and a tattoo on the back of his head; he was last seen wearing a black shirt and red pants.

According to SMPD, an officer had observed a vehicle driving recklessly and erratically; when he attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled.

Officials said the suspect ran from police, and officers questioned two of the inhabitants of the vehicle and then detained them. Witness statements from the inhabitants of the vehicle led police to believe the suspect may have been armed.

Around 11:42 AM, City Officials announced that the advisory had been lifted, and the suspect had not been found. While the suspect has not been found, the city said the suspect has been fully identified.

However, police said they have not confirmed his identity yet. Police will be issuing charges for the suspect’s arrest.
