Amazon Donates Time And $10,000 To HCWC

The Amazonian Women recently spent an afternoon helping organize HCWC’s Donation Center.
Libby Rhymer, a manager at Amazon’s San Marcos Fulfillment Center: “Amazon is always looking for opportunities to give back to where its employees work and live. We are proud to have our leaders volunteer and donate to the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center to support local women and their families so they have the things they need.”
HCWC’s Donation Center is filled with donated items such as clothes, shoes, accessories, furniture, household items, diapers, etc. all to be used by the women, men and children served at HCWC.
“We’ve been fortunate enough to receive many new and gently used items that help our clients. So many of the people we serve have needs that most of us take for granted, often coming to us with little but the clothes on their back”, says Desiree Norman, HCWC’s McCoy Family Shelter Program Director.
This past year, HCWC – served 1,788 face to face victims of abuse from Hays and Caldwell County by providing crisis serves such as emergency shelter, legal and/or personal advocacy, forensic interviews, and individual counseling including play therapy for child clients.
The Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center has a 40-year history of serving women, men and children in Hays and Caldwell Counties who are victims of family violence, dating violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
