Hays County reports two COVID-related fatalities; 269 new recoveries

HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports two COVID-related fatalities: a Kyle woman in her 60s and a Wimberley man in his 60s. The department also reports 70 new lab-confirmed cases along with one (1) new hospitalization and four (4) new hospital discharges.

There are 269 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 26,795. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 28,435. Hays County has 1,274 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 2,523 active cases. Hays County has had 1,292 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 40 people are currently hospitalized.Of those, 35 are unvaccinated, which is about 88 percent.
