Boil Water Notice Lifted

The boil water notice enacted Saturday, Aug. 15 to City of San Marcos utility customers south of McCarty Lane has been lifted.

An emergency water repair after a contractor hit a water main on Foxtail Run Saturday triggered the boil water notice affecting more than a 1,000 customers.

Bacteriological test results showed that no contamination occurred during the water main break or its repair. Officials say boiling water prior to consumption is no longer necessary.

Due to the size of the area affected, the City notified customers using a regional emergency notification system, which draws its information from the 911 database.
