Hays County reports one COVID-related fatality, decreasing hospitalizations

HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports one (1) COVID-related fatality: a Kyle man in his 60s. The department also reports 122 new lab-confirmed cases along with one (1) new hospitalization and three (3) new hospital discharges. The data in today’s update includes numbers from Curative for Wednesday, Sept. 29, which did not arrive at the HCLHD until after the update was sent.

There are 151 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 27,098. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 28,564. Hays County has 1,099 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 2,025 active cases. Hays County has had 1,295 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 36 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 29 are unvaccinated, which is about 81 percent.
